SEYA Book Festival Fun!

SEYA was awesome! I met so many incredible authors, organizers, librarians, teachers and students. Thanks to Liz, Barb and everyone for having me. SEYA (Southeastern Young Adult Book Festival) is held in Murfreesboro, TN and I totally recommend this experience to other middle grade and YA authors.

Lucky me! With authors Tracy Barrett, Cynthia (C.M.) Surrisi, Kamilla Benko, Nikki Grimes and Jenn Bishop.

My Day One Panel Gang:  Gwenda Bond, Cynthia Surrisi and Tracy Barrett. It didn’t take long for me to absolutely adore these women!

Day Two Panel with such enthusiastic student participants. Abigail came up to me after and told me how she stayed up late the night before finishing The Infinity Year of Avalon James and loved it! That sure made this author feel good 🙂

Day Three. The California Contingent. After the panel with these cool YA authors. Take a guess which one of us didn’t have arm tattoos. With Mary Weber, Andrea Cremer and Jeff Garvin.

One of the  highlights of my trip was getting to meet librarian extraordinaire, Mary Jean Smith. She was so generous with her advice and wisdom. Librarians rule!

Yeah, that’s me with Nikki Grimes and Christina Soontornvat. Just the luck of the draw to be signing neighbors!

Speaking of neighbors, I had to travel all the way to Murfreesboro to meet one of mine. With fellow Angeleno, Tom Rogers.

With Mr. Nance. Educator, moderator, bow tie enthusiast. Had to get a selfie with Tim!

At my signing table. Thanks to all the kids and adults who bought my books and let me sign them.

Met so many more people than featured here and can’t wait to run into each and every one of them again! SEYA next time 🙂
